Mentmeth Libby

If you read my cREaTe blog last week, you'd know what a Montmess was.  Well, I guess technically it was always Montmeth.  And this week she's tweaked it into Mentmeth. What am I talking about?!  Oh ... it's the way Libby says PRINCESS.  She thinks she's royalty now.
[Libby & her friend Delaney]

Me:  "Are you fancy?" [photo above was me asking this question]
Libby: "No.  Mentmeth."

Me:  "Libby, are you a silly girl?"
Libby:  "No.  Mentmeth."

Me:  "Libby, are you beautiful?"
Libby:  "No.  Mentmeth."
Oh & here?  This was her this morning shouting "I'M. A. MENTMETH!"

She's now got a Mentmeth bed, in case you haven't seen.
The ultrasound from November 2006 might have announced it the 1st time ... but it's now official.  We have a GIRL!

Libby's New 'Do ...

Libby's got a new look for summer.  The out-of-control-'fro just ... is driving me crazy.  I don't know what to do with it.  It's not growing long.  It's growing high & outward.  So here's what I've been doing the past couple of days.  :)  The more, the merrier.

BUNK * BEDS!

Way back in February 2004... Kyle had just gotten home from his 2nd 6 month deployment. I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with Davis, & Bretty was still in his crib. Okay, make me dig up photos. Twist my arm.

So here we were, less than 2 months before little Davis arrived. We went out and bought bunk beds, knowing these soon-to-be brothers were going to be sharing a room one day. We've had the beds set up as twins the past few years, since Davis got out of his crib (at the ripe old age of 19 months after he was hurling himself over the edge...grrrr).

Fast forward 4 1/2 years and here we were on September 2, setting up the bunk beds for these 2 brothers.

Now instead of just having 1 helper, Daddy has 3! And instead of a girl dog to sit on his lap, he has little Libby.

A lot has changed in 4 1/2 years [understatement!] but it's so exciting to see our dream of "the brothers sharing bunk beds" come true.

P.S. Notice Brett has the same dog that he sleeps with. :) And of course Davis has his bah-boh. Both were baby shower gifts for them!

The little Mommy

After realizing Libby loved playing with little baby dolls {surprised?} I finally got her some. She has boy & girl twins... which I have playfully nicknamed "Knox & Vivienne". (Tell me you know what I'm talking about) They are so cute, came with their own little bottles & smell like baby powder. She's really enjoyed playing with them!

Yesterday we had our neighbors over to play & their mom, Lisa, said "I bet she'd really love having a stroller..." So she ran down to the house & gave Libby one of the doll strollers her daughters have out grown. (Although Leah, the reaction was similar to Davis's when I told you Eli could have Davis's baby walker/ride-on toy) :)

Luckily, Libby's got a while to work on her Mommy skills. Although she has tender-loving moments with them, she also man-handles those twins, throws them down to the ground & even took their spot in the stroller. Someone's not ready to give up her role as the baby... and that's just fine with her Mommy! :)

What a Deere!

The other day we got a package in the mail! It was SWAG from the VP of John Deere. He had been on Kyle's flight a few weeks ago & was really grateful to SWA, Kyle & his crew. He had the crew write down their addresses [after telling them he was the VP of John Deere] & told them he was going to send them stuff. We got some hats, coolies & other fun free goods! How nice! (Davis fell asleep during dinner, so he didn't get to try out the coolie.) P.S. Yep, Libby's still got her bracelets! :)

Fun for all ages!

Well, actually the title is sort of a joke. I was going to include 1 or 2 of these in my "funny fotos" from yesterday, but I wasn't sure if these guys were ready to laugh about it yet. Thanks to Daddy, Uncle Kelly, Mister Dan & Mister Blaine we have a new swing set! Well, "new to us" anyway! :)

Here are some photos from the whole ordeal. I was in the backyard watering some plants when I heard the trucks pull up.

I had to run & get the camera to capture the monstrosity piled into the beds of these trucks. I winced slightly at what was going on in the red truck, but as they say "all's well that ends well".

These guys were troopers - all doing this on a 95 degree day, spending time away from their own kids, etc. Thanks to all who helped make this possible... we owe you! The 1 celebratory beer we offered you isn't enough! We'll be in touch... :)
