New Mexico Photos ...

Here they are!  We had such a GREAT time.  We stayed in a little Casita, which was a 1 bed / 1 bath little home with a full kitchen, living room, 2 gas fire places & a hot tub on the patio.  Even though we were in our own place, it was sort of "B & B style" in that there was a man & woman who owned and operated a bunch of these quaint little Casitas right off the Plaza.

We actually flew into Albuquerque, rented a car ...

& drove up to Santa Fe.  We spent Saturday doing sight-seeing ... my favorite was the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum which was just around the corner from where we stayed!  You can read more about the Museum here & here.

We also loved the tour of the Governor's Palace & getting to see the inside of the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi.  [The outside was all under scaffolding]

We spent the rest of the day just walking around & of course we had to track down a sports bar that would have the Mizzou game on!  After the Tigers won, Kyle & I played a few games of pool before going to dinner.

Sunday we drove up to Taos.  We took "the High Road" up there, stopping in Chimayo to see the Sanctuaria Chimayo.  Wow.  What a cute little church.  We stopped by the gift shop where we had the pleasure of meeting Father Roca who will be 91 this July.  He had preached at the church for about 40 years before retiring, but he still goes there every day. He was a RIOT.  Such a sense of humor, so charismatic.

Once we were up in Taos, we drove to see the Rio Grande Gorge.  Wow.  I'm a bit afraid of heights ... and it was a huge drop.  It even made Kyle a little nervous!

We then walked around the Plaza in Taos before hitting "the Low Road" back to Santa Fe.

Monday morning we drove back to Albuquerque to catch our flight.  The drives were so scenic, I took dozens of photos.  What a gorgeous place.

The Mystery Photo ...

Well, you were close.  Perhaps a cubby was cleaned out at school.  I'm not sure.  But what I am sure about is that this entire pile [previous post] came out of Brett's backpack.  You can imagine my surprise.  I unzipped it and it nearly exploded with 387 pieces of paper all crumbled up (some were in tight little balls).  This entire heap came out of ONE BACKPACK!  It was like Mary Poppins' bag & George Costanza's wallet, combined.

ONE MORE FUNNY BRETT STORY ...
Tonight we took Kyle to the airport.  Brett kept asking when Kyle was getting back & I kept saying "Friday".  So finally, I quit giving the answer because I knew he knew.  Instead I said, "Brett, you know.  I told you what day Daddy was getting home.  What day did I say ... it begins with an F..."  and Brett said "Fursday".

Fursday.

Anybody want to take a stab at what this heap is?

Celebrating with Cousins...

I never finished posting pictures of Libby's mini-parties.

She had one with her "Morgan Cousins" ... Eli & Roman.  It was the day Becky & Roman came to meet us halfway to pick up Leah & Eli and take them up to their house for the rest of the weekend.  We met here at this new cupcake place { Cupcake a la Mode } ...

and we treated everyone to one of these amazing cupcakes. YUM.  I bought prince crowns for the boys & of course the princess got her own.

A week later Libby celebrated with her "Twin Cousin", Will & the rest of the Twenter Cousins.

Dawn & I went from keeping things simple, meeting at a place to grab a pizza ... to a party with snacks, drinks, cake & ice cream.  It was a last minute change ... but we still pulled off a theme {thanks to some leftovers from Brett's 4th Birthday}.

How Libby Spent Her Day...

We've had so many Birthday celebrations, I'll have to break this down into a couple posts.  But here's what Libby got to do on her actual Birthday (March 5).

She started the day with some Birthday cards that the boys had made her!  So sweet!

Then Libby got Mommy & Daddy all to herself after  B & D were off to school.
[mommy & daddy swinging Libby while we walked]

Kyle & I took her down to the Plaza Library for a toddler story, song & craft time.

She LOVED every minute of it.  I think she felt like the luckiest girl there, having BOTH parents with her.  :)  We then took her to Winsteads near the Plaza for lunch!

After nap, we picked up her brothers from school.  We went to the park & brought a kite!  It was fun to just get out & enjoy the sunshine.

When we came home from the park, we showed Miss Libbs her kitchen!  She was so excited!

Sadly, Daddy had to go to work that night.

And we had a chain of unfortunate events ... in a nutshell, Daddy's car wouldn't start when it was time to leave.  He ripped his pants.  We all had to take Daddy to the airport.  1/4 of the way to the airport we had to turn around because our security alarm was going off.  The Hello Kitty balloon had set off the motion detector.  But we didn't let the last couple of hours spoil her day.  Libby had the most wonderful, fun-filled day.  She is one LUCKY little girl.

I am Birthday'ed out ... but it's time to start gearing up for D's #5!

Roman's Baptism & 1 Year Home

Skipping around here, chronologically, but last Sunday (March 1st) marked Roman's Anniversary of being HOME 1 YEAR.  :)  His parents also chose this day to have him Baptized!

Here are some photos from the events.

Roman, Becky & Jason... I wish someone would have gotten photos of Roman when he crawled under Jason's legs to hide from the minister!  It was classic, but it happened SO FAST there was no way I could get a photo!

Roman having a little "2 year old" moment ... with his Daddy, Grandpa & Pop-pop looking on.

Roman you are truly a remarkable kid who has blown us all away with your resilience.
We love you so much & are so lucky to call you our nephew & cousin!

P.S. My mom made this to bring to Roman's Party.  I think she needs a geography lesson. Or maybe just a lesson on how to use a Jell-o mold.
