Mentmeth Libby

If you read my cREaTe blog last week, you'd know what a Montmess was.  Well, I guess technically it was always Montmeth.  And this week she's tweaked it into Mentmeth. What am I talking about?!  Oh ... it's the way Libby says PRINCESS.  She thinks she's royalty now.

Me:  "Are you fancy?" [photo above was me asking this question]

Libby: "No.  Mentmeth."

Me:  "Libby, are you a silly girl?"

Libby:  "No.  Mentmeth."

Me:  "Libby, are you beautiful?"

Libby:  "No.  Mentmeth."

Oh & here?  This was her this morning shouting "I'M. A. MENTMETH!"

She's now got a Mentmeth bed, in case you haven't seen.

The ultrasound from November 2006 might have announced it the 1st time ... but it's now official.  We have a GIRL!

Fun with Cousins ...

Last Thursday, Kyle's brother picked up Kyle from the airport since we were in a bind. [Thanks Kelly!]  He had the kids with him, so we had an impromptu play date. We tried to beat the heat index of 108 with some popsicles & water fun. :) 

On Saturday the Lewis Fam came down for a visit & BBQ.  We had a really good time, despite Lib's little melt-down.  Don't let her fool you.  :) ha ha

Father's Day ...

We don't celebrate days in this house, we celebrate entire weekends.  :)  So it was Father's Day Weekend.  Friday I [myself] grilled some shrimp & zucchini and made some rice.  We don't normally get fresh shrimp, so that was a nice treat.  

Saturday we had Kyle's dad [and mom] over to celebrate with them.  I let the 2 dads watch the Royals Game, while I manned the grill [usually their domain].  On the menu was grilled chicken breasts, grilled zucchini and steamed potatoes.  For dessert?  Grilled peaches with vanilla ice cream.  YUM.

Sunday we went to church, came home & gave Kyle his gifts.  I had driven down to the Boulevard Brewery and bought him 2 shirts from the gift shop.  [what a cool place!]  Instead of bags, they send you home with your items in little 6-pack boxes.  Oh & Kyle had asked for a new pair of flip flops ... he wanted a pair for KC & a pair for Little Rock.  So we got him a step up from the generic cheap-o flip flops.  And of course the kids showered him with drawings & cards they had made them.  :)  Kyle took the boys to the pool while Libby & I stayed here so Libby could nap ... then we had to take Daddy to the airport to fly back to Little Rock, his 2nd home for 6 months.

Sunday night we made a call to Grandpa [my dad] in St. Louis to wish him a Happy Father's Day.  Our gift is a little late ... oh but not as late as THIS GIFT [see below].  Dad, I found this in a box of memorabilia.  I'll get this finished up for you ... 20-25 years late.  But it looks like a killer bookmark!  Surely you'll forget before Father's Day 2010, so here's a sneak peek.  :)  xo

Becoming an Aunt again!

I forgot to mention ... that in December this little guy {Eli} will be a big brother.  Leah & Todd are expecting #2 due to arrive Dec.20!

I'm totally thinking ... GIRL.  

Here's my reasoning ... only a daughter of Leah's would figure out that with a due date of December 20th, she can get here in the nick of time for St.Nick to arrive & cash in on more gifts.  

Yes, if it's a girl {like I think it is} ... she is her mother's daughter.

Guess we'll wait & see!  :)  Either way, I'm excited to become an aunt again!

I Love Summer!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our 1st week of SUMMER.  Last week I gave the boys a haircut with the clippers out on the patio ... then we got out the splash rocket; bubbles; sidewalk chalk; and ice cream. I am sooo happy SUMMER is here ... and that I remembered not to overbook us this year.  Last August when summer break was over, I was wishing we had had more days like this.  You know, the kind of days that you're so messy & dirty that you take a shower or bath before dinner.  :)

Davis has a crush ...

 He is totally, completely smitten by a girl named Claire.  :)  Which is funny because his very 1st girlfriend [in Corpus Christi] was named Claire.

This is one of many drawings he has made for her.  He's very thoughtful ... even chooses colors he knows she'll like.  Draws Scooby-Doo because he knows she likes him.  I met her Friday night [Davis's team played her team] & it was pretty obvious - the feeling was mutual.

If you talk to him about her [Aunts...] ... don't embarrass him.  He's very serious about it.  Like REAL LOVE serious about it.  And his heart is broken now that it's summer time & he doesn't get to see her.  Luckily ... they signed up for a membership at our same pool!  And I just might have to grant his wish to have her over for a play date ... if Claire's mom is okay with it.  :)
